Our beloved Grassy Creek Church

Grassy Creek is a small community with a long and rich history – one that has shaped The Old Store for more than a century. In September 2025, the beautiful and historic Grassy Creek Community Church (formerly the Grassy Creek United Methodist Church) was lost to fire. For generations, it
stood as a place of gathering, celebration, and connection.

While its absence is deeply felt, the spirit of Grassy Creek endures in its people, its traditions, and in the places where the community continues to gather. We invite you to learn more about the story of this beloved mountain church through this video from Appalachian Memory Keepers and follow the progress of the rebuilding efforts on the church's website.
